- What it is. Google’s new flagship model. Google says it is especially strong at cybersecurity and at long, multi-step tasks the model carries out on its own.
- Available now? No. A subset of cyber defenders gets it first, then other trusted Google partners (the Fairwind Program). Google promises access for developers, businesses and consumers “soon” but gives no date.
- Google’s price. $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens at launch, later $4 and $20.
- What to do now. The previous model, Gemini 4 Argon, is already available on RuAPI, from Russia without a VPN. We plan to add Carbon as soon as Google opens the API to developers, and we’ll announce it in our Telegram channel.
What Google announced
Koray Kavukcuoglu (Chief AI Architect at Google) introduced the model on the Google blog on October 28, two weeks after Gemini 4 Argon. Highlights:- Ranking. 59 points on the independent Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index (v5.0), first place.
- Cybersecurity. Finding vulnerabilities (SEC-bench Pro) 88.2%, exploitation (ExploitGym) 54.8%, patching (CWE-bench) 71.0%. Google notes these evaluations were run without the model’s safeguards.
- Web development. 4th place on WebDev Arena (1768 Elo, up 89 points).
- Long tasks. Google says internal teams saw the model work on complex multi-step tasks for days and persist through dead ends. These are Google’s own observations and haven’t been independently verified.
Google’s announcement doesn’t compare Carbon with Claude Opus 5.5 or OpenAI models by name. There is one comparison with an unnamed “other lab’s” frontier model: the Chrome team reports Carbon is more than 10x better at high-quality patch generation. The first place is the Artificial Analysis composite index, not head-to-head tests against specific models.
When will the Gemini 4 Carbon API be released
Google is rolling the model out in stages:- From the week of the announcement: a subset of cyber defenders.
- Next: gradually more trusted partners through the Fairwind Program.
- Then: developers, businesses and consumers. Google says “as soon as possible” but gives no date.
gemini-4-carbon).
How Carbon differs from Argon
According to Google, compared with Argon, Carbon:
- generates secure code more than 2x as often (Google internal benchmarks);
- makes roughly half as many unsupported claims;
- had 0% successful prompt-injection attacks (Gray Swan benchmark) versus 0.7% for Argon.
What to use now: Gemini 4 Argon
While Carbon is closed, the nearest available Google model isgemini-4-argon. On RuAPI it works from Russia without a VPN or a foreign card, and you can top up in USDT.
RuAPI prices per 1M tokens, as on the pricing page (as of October 29, 2026; your account’s price may be lower):
Google doubles Argon’s price on December 1 and we will follow. Context is about 1.05M tokens (input and output combined), up to 65,536 tokens per response, and the model understands images.
gemini-4-argon unlocks after a top-up of $5 or more, in USDT or with a foreign bank card. No USDT? Buy it with rubles.
How to hear about the Carbon launch
